Rosacea is a chronic skin condition that primarily affects the face and is characterized by redness, inflammation, and occasionally papules and pustules. Lasers are one of the treatments used to manage it, especially to reduce the redness and telangiectasia (dilated blood vessels) caused by the condition. The laser uses a spectrum of light with multiple wavelengths to target the hemoglobin in the blood vessels. The energy is converted into heat, causing the destruction of the blood vessels without affecting the surrounding skin. It is used to reduce redness and flare-ups of rosacea. It is less selective than PDL, but can be just as effective, especially for more diffuse redness.

Post-treatment instructions:

  • Sessions are held every 4 weeks on average for treatment protocols. Please stick to the schedule for best results.
  • There will be some redness after application, which will gradually subside over the next few days.
  • You can use your usual moisturizing and regenerating creams as long as they do not contain irritating or exfoliating ingredients (retinol, AHAs, scrub particles, etc.)
  • Depending on the protocol selected for you (soft/medium/hard), the color of the treated skin is expected to darken until it naturally and gently peels off over the next 2–3 weeks.
  • If a blister forms, it should be drained with a sterile needle, taking care not to tear the skin.
  • Avoid sun exposure for 5 days and apply sunscreen with maximum SPF 50+ protection throughout the course of treatment and for 6 months afterward.
  • Hair removal can be performed in the area after 15–20 days, once the inflammation caused by the treatment has definitely subsided.
  • Avoid saunas, gyms, or any other places and activities that can raise your skin temperature and cause sweating for 24 hours.
  • Avoid washing with water or any other liquid for 24 hours; however, you may soothe the irritated area with cool, damp compresses if you feel the need.
  • If you experience severe itching or any other symptoms not mentioned in the instructions above, please contact our clinic for further instructions.
